You are the scarecrow. On a small farm at the edge of the woods, a Tomte's
magic pulled you off your post and gave you a job: keep the harvest alive.
Can you turn the place around before it all falls apart?
A challenging fairytale roguelite. Solo or 2-4 player online co-op.
The Farm
On a small farm at the edge of the old woods, the crops keep vanishing and
the farmer can't figure out why. He's not a bad farmer. He's just asleep when
the trouble comes - and the trouble knows it.
But someone else has been watching. One night a Tomte, a whiskered little
gnome out of Scandinavian folklore, crept down from the treeline and worked his
magic on the farmer's scarecrow. That's you. The farmer still handles the
planting, the watering, the harvest - he has no idea you can move. Everything
that creeps out of the woods to eat his crops is your business now.
It won't be easy. The pests come in waves from first light to the dead of
night, and the deeper the woods get stirred up, the stranger the things that
wander out of them. But with a shed full of garden tools, a little folk magic,
and maybe a friend or three, this old farm might have a future after all.
What you'll be doing
- Four shifts, no breaksDeer and bunnies nibble at dawn, bears lumber
in by afternoon, and after dark the woods send their strange ones - ghouls,
mushroom goblins, and worse.
- Fight like a scarecrowSend pests running with a wave of dread, or
take a garden tool to them - trowel, hoe, rake, shovel, or a pitchfork that
flings them clear across the field.
- Build while they're comingDig trenches, set lures, plant stinging
nettles and raise spook stones right in the middle of the wave. The pests
won't wait for you to get ready.
- Leave notes for the farmerSign them "Ol' Jo," a helpful neighbor.
He'll buy whatever the note suggests on his next market trip - as long as
the harvest earned enough to cover it.
- Sell crops or spend themWhatever stays in the field, the farmer
sells to keep the farm afloat. Whatever you quietly harvest yourself becomes
crafting material. The farm's whole fate sits inside that choice.
- Dig at your own riskFive relics out of old folklore lie buried
beneath the fields. Each one is powerful. Each one has a price, and you'll
learn it the hard way.
- Lose the farm, keep the lessonsWhen the farm is overrun the fields
reset - but the scarecrow remembers. Spend advancement points on permanent
upgrades and get a little further each run.
- Solo or 2-4 player online co-opMore scarecrows, more chaos - waves
scale to the size of your crew, and veterans can dial their own upgrades back
down so new players aren't left behind.
